The ScaleNL HealthTech Mini-Accelerator program, in partnership with Cedars-Sinai Accelerator and NBSO Los Angeles, has come to an end! After successfully completing and intensive healthcare immersion week in Los Angeles, 10 promising Dutch Tech startups are now back in the Netherlands with new valuable connections and clearer strategies on US market entry.

About the HealthTech Mini Accelerator Program 

Together with Cedars Sinai Accelerator, we designed the program to offer participants a unique opportunity to:

  • Gain deep insight into the US healthcare system: Immerse themselves in the intricacies of the American healthcare landscape, understanding its unique challenges and opportunities.
  • Engage with industry experts: Connect with leading professionals from The Cedars-Sinai Accelerator network, gaining invaluable industry knowledge and personalized guidance tailored to participants’ specific needs.
  • Navigate the US business landscape: Learn about critical elements like the regulatory environment, and connect with potential investors and partners, fostering crucial connections for US market success.
  • Sharpen their strategies: Through tailored mentorship sessions, refine their product strategies and gain a clear understanding of how to adapt their innovations for the US market.

🩺 Program Highlights

➡️ One-on-one sessions with industry experts from The Cedars-Sinai Accelerator network proved to be a valuable platform for personalized advice. The participating Dutch tech founders received guidance on navigating regulatory hurdles, understanding the unique needs of the US healthcare system, and refining product strategies for optimal impact.

➡️ Going beyond textbook knowledge, the founders took part in exclusive visits to the cutting-edge facilities of Cedars-Sinai, including the Women’s Guild Simulation Center and helipad. This immersive experience provided valuable insights into the real-world functioning of a leading healthcare institution, while offering a dose of inspiration. In addition, a ScaleNL alum, Loop Robots  even had a chance to present their SAM disinfection robot to the simulation center’s members.

➡️ We hosted a panel discussion featuring experienced VCs, laying out valuable insights into the US investment landscape and effective pitching strategies. This knowledge equips participants with the skills to secure funding and attract investors for their ventures.

➡️ Expert sessions on critical topics like AI in medicine, navigating FDA regulations, and understanding legal considerations equipped participating founders with the necessary knowledge to navigate the complexities of the US healthcare market. 

➡️ Finally, the importance of clearly communicating milestones and effectively pitching to potential investors was highlighted. This valuable skill equips  with the ability to secure crucial funding for their ventures and effectively communicate the value proposition of their innovations.

 

💡 Conclusions

As the program came to an end, the founders of HealthTech Mini Accelerator cohort left with not just new knowledge and connections, but also a renewed sense of inspiration and confidence. This week-long immersion in the heart of the US healthcare ecosystem has undoubtedly equipped them with the tools and knowledge they need to take their businesses to the next level and make a real impact on the world. We are excited to see them continue their journeys and turn their groundbreaking ideas into tangible solutions.
